Location

The fantastic location of the Hotel Albergo Firenze is the envy of most Florence hotels – wedged between Piazza della Signoria and the Duomo di Firenze, all of the historical centre’s most significant landmarks are just a stone’s throw away. Take a look at the interactive map of Florence below and see for yourself. The map also features a satellite image version so you can literally see the Duomo and surrounding areas and plan your route before you come.

The Duomo, characterised by its magnificent orange colour, is the most prominent symbol of this great historical city and forms an unmistakable part of the Florence skyline to be seen from miles around (- useful if you’re prone to getting lost!). Just past Piazza della Signoria and the Palazzo Vecchio, to the south of the Hotel Firenze is the famous Uffizi Gallery which features priceless masterpieces by some of the greatest artists in history – many of them sons of Florence itself. Slightly further on is the charming Ponte Vecchio Bridge. Traditionally occupied by jewellers since its construction in Roman times, the bridge was reconstructed after a fire in 1333 and proudly remains Europe’s oldest stone bridge.

How to get there

The Hotel Albergo Firenze is about a 10 minute walk from Stazione Santa Maria Novella – Florence’s principal Railway Station, as you can see by zooming in and out of the map above. Public transport links the airport to the Railway Station or a taxi directly from the airport to the hotel should cost no more than about €20.

If coming by car, simply follow signs for ‘Centro’ and ‘Duomo’. Our address is Piazza Donati 4, just off Via del Corso.
